Day 1: Kampala – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Seven-Day Uganda Gorilla Expedition near 7:00 am local time, our driver-guide will transport you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, with a brief stop near the equator for photos and refreshments. Commence lunch at the Igongo Cultural Center in Mbarara. Subsequently, proceed to Bwindi via Kabale and arrive at the lodge in the early evening.
It requires almost 10 hours of driving from Entebbe/Kampala to Bwindi, and 4 to 5 hours of driving from Kigali Airport, Rwanda to Bwindi. You may commence your journey from either Entebbe or Kigali.
Day 2: Trek mountain gorillas and community tour
Breakfast is scheduled for 6:30 am, followed by a transfer to the national park headquarters for a briefing conducted by the park rangers. At 8:00 am, you will proceed to the commencement location of the trekking trail. The expedition is conducted by an armed park ranger and potters; it may require 1 to 5 hours to locate the mountain gorillas, as they are wild and constantly traverse different areas. Guests are permitted a minimum of one hour to engage with the gorillas.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Game Drives, and Launch Cruise
Following breakfast, proceed to Ishasha, the southern area of Queen Elizabeth National Park, renowned for its tree-climbing lions. At 14:00, proceed to Kazinga Channel for a launch cruise at 16:00. Anticipate observing numerous migratory bird species and fauna, including hippopotamuses, crocodiles, buffalo, and monitor lizards, among others, along the water’s edge.
Day 4: Morning Game Drive – and Transfer to Kibale National Park
At 6:00 am, your breakfast will be prepared, and you will promptly commence a game drive to the northern area of the park. A stopover at Ihamba Lodge for a hot lunch is permissible en route to Kibale Forest National Park. The travel from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Kibale National Park takes 2 to 3 hours.
Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and a nature tour in the Bigodi Eco Swamp.
Following breakfast at 7:00 am, proceed to the national park headquarters for a briefing with the park warden. At 8:30 am, embark on a journey into the jungle under the guidance of the leader in pursuit of the chimpanzees. Encountering the chimpanzees may require 30 minutes to 3 hours. Return to the resort for lunch, followed by nature excursions in the Bogodi marsh, which hosts several bird species. Evening meal and accommodation for the night (Day 4).
Day 6: Engage with the local community
